Children’s classes at KBF Academy.
A fundamental part of our school is welcoming children into the club. We have a full children’s syllabus that has been approved by the World Association of Kickboxing Organisation (WAKO) and takes children from white to black belt. Our children’s classes start at age 4 and are split into three groups.
Childrens Classes
Our children’s classes are at the heart of our club. We train children from age 4 through to 15 in both points and continous kickboxing. We run varied lessons including kickboxing pad routines, weapons, self defence, break falls and sparring. All our lessons have kickboxing at the core but have a rolling curriculum to allow the students to learn new skills to enhance their martial arts experience.
Kickboxing offers numerous benefits for children, both physically and mentally. Engaging in this dynamic martial art helps young participants develop essential life skills while promoting overall well-being.
The Benefits
- Physical Fitness: Kickboxing is a full-body workout that enhances cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children develop strong muscles and improve their endurance, which contributes to their overall physical fitness.
- Self-Discipline and Focus: The structured nature of kickboxing requires children to follow instructions, maintain discipline, and focus on their techniques. These qualities translate into better concentration and self-control in other areas of life, such as academics.
- Confidence and Self-Esteem: As children progress in kickboxing, they achieve new skills and reach personal goals, boosting their confidence. The sense of accomplishment they gain from mastering techniques and earning belts can significantly enhance their self-esteem.
- Self-Defense Skills: Kickboxing teaches practical self-defense techniques, giving children the tools to protect themselves if necessary. This knowledge fosters a sense of security and empowerment.
- Stress Relief: Physical activity, especially one as intense as kickboxing, is an excellent outlet for stress. Children can release pent-up energy and emotions in a controlled environment, helping them manage stress and anxiety better.
- Social Skills and Teamwork: In kickboxing classes, children interact with peers, learn to respect others, and often participate in partner drills. These interactions help them develop social skills, teamwork, and a sense of camaraderie.
- Goal Setting and Perseverance: Kickboxing involves setting goals, such as mastering a new technique or earning a higher belt rank. Children learn the importance of perseverance and hard work as they strive to achieve these milestones.
- Respect and Courtesy: Martial arts, including kickboxing, emphasize respect for instructors, peers, and the art itself. Children learn to be polite, wait their turn, and show respect in and out of the training environment.
- Improved Mental Resilience: Facing challenges in kickboxing, such as sparring or learning complex moves, teaches children to push through difficulties. This resilience is invaluable in helping them navigate life’s challenges.
